A fairytale forest. A jet flies across a futuristic sky. A translucent fossil holds crystalized memories. A childhood best friend. The mutated contrast of contemporary symbols. Humorous metaphors for human relationships. Reality and fantasy juxtaposed in erotic ambiguity. The boundary separating the body from the environment, extended. And, a nimbly executed colorful character sketch. This summer, INART brings together nine young contemporary artists from Japan and Taiwan, who distill inspiration from their individual memories and environments to depict a diverse, mutable view of fantastical possibilities. They challenge the limits of your visual senses by presenting a mirage with a silhouette whose outline is alternately defined, and blurred.
