The second edition of Art Parcours. curated by Jens Hoffman, will transform 10 unique locations throughout Basel. Al Weiwei's photographic documentation Fairytale People, 2007. will occupy the Old City Wall. The project was financed by Leister Stiftung. Erlenmeyer Stiftung and Meile Kunst AG with the cooperation of Galerie Urs Meile Beijing/Lucerne and neugerriemschneider in Berlin. The work witnesses the experience of 1001 Chinese participants who left China to live in Kassel for the duration of dOCUMENTA in 2007.

Al Weiwei was detained by authorities in Beijing while trying to board a flight to Hong Kong on 3 April.
