Volumes: Artist Editions
by Causey Contemporary
Location: Causey Contemporary
Date: 27 Jan - 26 Feb 2012

Causey Contemporary is pleased to announce the opening of VOLUMES this February, a group exhibition of artist editions. Culled from our diverse compilation of artists at the gallery, VOLUMES will highlight limited edition photographs, etchings, lithographs, and screen prints. Artists featured in this exhibition include: Carri Skoczek, Melissa Murray, Norman Mooney, Alexis Portilla, Arthur Mednick, Michel Demanche, Gerald Mocarsky, Chuck Kelton, Shelton Walsmith, Nina Carelli, Lauren Dreier, and Kathy Goodell.

Often eclipsed by an artist’s large-scale or interactive creations, editions and works on paper indulge a more intimate sensibility. The archaic and protracted processes involved in printmaking and photography can inflict boundaries and challenges within the image-making process; however, these constraints ultimately produce the unique look, quality and mood of a print.

In addition to this exciting exhibition, the gallery will begin hosting a monthly Salon, which will showcase limited editions and works on paper by gallery artists. More information on this event will be provided after the opening of VOLUMES in February.

Artists Michel Demanche, Gerald Mocarsky, Chuck Kelton and Shelton Walsmith will all be exhibiting their photography. Sculptors Norman Mooney, Arthur Mednick and Kathy Goodell are better known for their three dimensional and interactive installations, though each of these artists will be exhibiting their photography, in some cases using their own sculptural works as the subject matter. VOLUMES will also feature linocuts, etchings, lithographs and screen prints by Carri Skoczek, Melissa Murray, Alexis Portilla, Nina Carelli and Lauren Dreier.
