Artist, 'Kwon Jung-Ho' is the first Korean artist who had ever shown solo exhibition of 36 peaces of huge painting and visual art work at Shanghai Art museum (6th ~15th Sept, 2005) in 2005 when Korean contemporary artist hadn't yet been introduced to Hong kong, Beijing in earnest.
He is one of the leading artist among the Korean post-modern artist and the representative artist to represent the art of Daegu . Meanwhile he had an invited solo-exhibition on a large scale in 2009 at Suseong Artpia(10th-28th June, 2009) He'd also gotten good attention from art market at that time when it was too rare to find successful exhibition of elder artist in art market.
Such an artist Kwon, for the 17th time ever in his career of artist, is scheduled to have solo exhibition on a large scale at GALLERY SOHEON in Daegu, Korea.
This exhibition of 11th-30th Nov, 2010 is organized of paintings and object-installing to show that the contents of 'total life and environment' through necessaries of day life by which relations between the parts of mental and material world are formed and by which the formality is quietly variable. And by comparing the principles of the negative and positive(Yin and Yang) with the rational and emotional part revealed from human essence, the works will show us dialectically harmonious world.
As an artist of pioneer in post-modernism art, the artist's main thought what he wants to communicate with society is not material but fantastic world in one's heart to show to the spectator, through the subjective interpretation toward the things and surroundings variable in our routine beyond the simple symbol of object.
He will show over 30 selected major works overall as major art works at this show that are composed of 'skeleton',' sound.' series and "Daegu subway fire accident" as the social accident, and 'group of people'-against to oppression by power and his latest work showing significant texture by adding Dak-paper porridge to canvas.
