Mark Wolfe Contemporary Art is pleased to present In Memoriam, a solo exhibition of new sculptures by Jeremy Mora. This will be his third solo exhibition with the Gallery, and follows a successful solo outing at the VOLTA NY art fair during Armory Week in New York.
In his latest body of work, Mora continues to develop his precarious explorations on the relationship between humankind, idealism and the forces of nature. Known for his dystopian themes, their sense of urgency has morphed into a kind of post-apocalyptic calm, within which there is a fragile truce between the clashing of idealism and reality. Devoid of human figures, there are only indications of recent inhabitance, allowing the viewer to visually occupy the unsteady environs in an unprojected manner.
In addition to shows at Wolfe Contemporary, Mora has exhibited at galleries in Los Angeles, New York, and Lisbon. Later in 2011, Mora will exhibit with the Museum of Art and Design in New York, the Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas, and the Toledo Art Museum.
Opening Reception: Friday, April 15, 5:30 - 8 pm
