Within each frame of my work coexists acrylic, oil paint, and sometimes embroidery. It is impulsive. It is fun. And every stitch of needlework adds on a sense of gratitude. Mixed media and various motivation mix on canvas and make an interesting chemistry. Each frame foreshadows the beginning of something - whether it is dreadful or exciting; I want to keep on making stories that leave a lasting image. (SATO Kana)

Sato Kana paints plants and animals with fragile brushworks in hazy colours, and adds embroidery making us feel like we got lost in a folktale. This time being her third solo exhibition since last year, ten new works will be introduced, including one she was inspired from her childhood memories, when her friends and she used to call the time after dark - when the streetlamps have not turned on yet and the shadows on the ground have disappered - “God's time.” (IDF)
