Moon and Pool (2009) by SATO Kana
162 x 390.9 cm
Oil, acrylic on canvas, embroidery

In my childhood, I was familiar with fables and fairy tales in which animals were personified or nymphs were playing. I feel imagination and creativity in these stories that are not only pleasant but also highly suggestive. Just as an author of such a tale expresses their imagination through the characters in the tale, I also express my inside such as emotions, passion, mental agony, and the balance of my mind through my art.

Something flies into, it gives birth.
Waiting for something, losing another.
Something blooms, and dies.
The moment of anxiety and beauty.

I want to create a world in my works where I can dance and play between dreams and reality.
