Michael Whittle is originally from England. After studying biomedicine, he went to Royal College of Art in 2005. Since 2010, he started studying at Kyoto University of Arts and has worked detailed drawing and sculpture using iconology or scientific symbols. As symbols and signs of minerals are expressed by Whittle's imagination and elaborate stroke, systematic and poetic art works stimulate the audience's curiosity.
His work has been introduced at Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art in New York and Kyoto University of Arts and received a good comment through solo exhibitions in London and New York.
Currently, he works and studies in Kyoto.
