In collaboration with Elisabeth Hutchinson, we are presenting a solo exhibition by Rajnish Kaur, one of the new generation of India’s finest contemporary artists.
Simply titled Rajnish Kaur, Solo Exhibition of Oil Pastels, the show will run from Thursday,13th November to Sunday, 30th November. The opening reception will be held on Friday, 14th November, 7 to 9pm.
Rajnish Kaur was born in Delhi in 1967, and received her BA and MA at Delhi College of Art and was awarded the Charles Wallace Scholarship to London’s Chelsea College of Art (Postgraduate). Her abstract works are inspired by the colour palette and decorative imagery of 18th century Indian miniature painting (which she studied) and the vitality of her immediate environment. Highly detailed and textured, her work is an evocation of experience and has an undeniably powerful draw.
This is her 2nd solo show in Singapore that we are hosting, the first one was back in 2011 and her art has been exhibited internationally with shows in London, New York and also in India, in Bangalore and Delhi.
