Charles Lim (b. 1973) is a co-founder and former member of the multimedia artist group tsunamii.net whose works was exhibited in various international exhibitions including Documenta 11, Kassel, Germany (2002), and the 2nd Seoul International Media Art Biennale, Seoul, Korea (2002). As an individual artist, Lim holds a BA in Fine Arts from Central Saint Martins College and was awarded the JCCI Arts Award in 2002 and the President’s Young Artists Award in 2005. His recent solo works have been shown in various international exhibitions including the Biennale Cuvee 09: World Selection of Contemporary Art, OK Center for Contemporary Art, Linz, Austria, Translocalmotion, Shanghai Biennale 2008, Shanghai, China (2008), and MANIFESTA7, The European Biennial of Contemporary Art, Bolzano, Italy (2008). Lim was also commissioned to make works by Emerging Artist Emerging Medium 3 (EAEM3), supported by the Jerome Foundation, USA. Currently, Lim is working on a series of works entitled seastories SEASTATE, in which he conflates the idea of borders by reversing the geography of the sea and land.
