Art-2 Gallery pays tribute to artist of the month – Lim Joo Hong.
In this posthumous feature, we will present Lim Joo Hong’s works in ink for the first time in the gallery together with his prints.
After a successful career in the IT industry that spanned 20 years, Lim Joo Hong left to fulfill his promise to pursue art before the age of 50. He enjoyed painting with ink, using the medium to express with a modern twist everyday objects and scenes.
His knowledge of printmaking and technology enabled him to manipulate his paintings to create limited edition digital prints that are incredibly textured and beautiful, pushing the boundaries of contemporary art. These were printed with archival ink on special Epson paper imported from the United States.
Lim Joo Hong’s prints are collected by The Singapore Art Museum, Citibank, Four Seasons Hotel (Maldives) and private collectors around the world.
Albeit his artistic profession was painfully brief, his work and life story continue to inspire all to pursue one’s passion and to keep discovering new ways of composing and expressing art.
