INSTINC presents Indian Atlantic by David Jacobs (New York) and Jordan Gower (Australia). All the works are new and are created during their one month residency in Singapore at INSTINC’s AIR programme.
New York and Australian artists David Jacobs and Jordan Gower exhibit new works that explore the economics of meaning through a range of mediums. With often humorous motifs in his sculpture and painting, David Jacobs questions what it is that makes something an artwork and how different cultures interpret such objects, while Jordan Gower's abstract print s and drawings focus on the ways we comprehend what we perceive in time and space. Although both artists are stylistically divergent, Indian Atlantic opens up a dialogue that seeks to understand how meanings are generated in an art context and how this can manifest meaningful thought. The opening reception will be held at INSTINC gallery at the Central, SOHO on 28th March 2014 from 7pm. The two artists will be present.
