Kari Cholnoky, a Brooklyn, NY based painter, is investigating contemporary Singaporean psychology and the influence of the urban island environment during her month-long residency at INSTINC. Her multi-dimensional works invade both physical and mental personal space and play with the way in which information is dispensed.
In this exhibition, Cholnoky's work examines a Singaporean culture of mistranslation, shopping malls, and compact spaces. The paintings featured will be on locally sourced material and found objects.
