This interactive collaborative exhibition is inspired by Allan Kaprow's WORDS, which was originally installed in the Smolin Gallery in New York in 1962. Kaprow was a pioneer in the area of performance art- his Happenings blurred the line between art and life and invited spectators to be active participants in the artistic process. The artists will every day, at an appointed time, come to the gallery-studio and exece those ideas via casting lots (from the box). The final artwork will not be a result of a single idea but be layered by mere chance, leading to continuous changes in the work's contents. Elements of chance and unpredictability rules in this art-making process. The artwork will only be completed at the the last day of the exhibition.
Opening hours during exhibition 12 - 6 pm (closed on mon)
Artists` talks by Katja Pal and Yeo Shih Yun to share this experience of collaborating with each other and with the general public. Katja will also share about her experience in Singapore.
