Shown recently at the Singapore Biennale 2013, Vietnamese artist Phi Phi Oanh will showcase a series of projected lacquer 'skins' in Palimpsest.

Palimpsest plays with the dematerialised form of lacquer painting and expands on Phi Phi's long-standing interest in lacquer work and its cultural associations to memory and reflexivity. She employs the medium of lacquer painting as a field of artistic research into relationships between art history, sociopolitics and contemporary thought.
