Singapore’s vibrant artistic community is invited to take part in “BREAKTHROUGH 2010”, an art competition that gives artists a chance to win SGD $1000.00 and to be exhibited and promoted throughout Singapore and beyond.

fill your walls, an art gallery dedicated to promoting affordable art by local emerging artists presents “BREAKTHROUGH 2010”, an annual group exhibition at fill your walls that aims to develop new audiences for emerging local artists through its gallery space and online web portal.

The SGD $1000.00 will be awarded for the first time to one artist who demonstrates excellence in their practice. Eligible artists must be based in Singapore and actively building a career in the areas of painting or drawing.

A selection of 20 to 30 artists will be short-listed for the prize and included in an exhibition at fill your walls with an accompanying catalogue and high profile opening function. The award recipient will be selected by an independent judge to be announced at a later date.

BREAKTHROUGH 2010 runs from 3 June till 20 June 2010 at the fill your walls gallery, which is located at 21 Tanjong Pagar Road #04-02. The exhibition is open from 10.00 am to 10.00 pm daily except Wednesdays and Public Holidays. Admission is free.
