Brown
by LINDA GALLERY
Location: Linda Gallery Singapore
Artist(s): ZANG Kun Kun
Date: 13 Jan - 28 Jan 2012

What kinds of subject are entitled to be called classic in this young artist's opinion? "Brown" provides us with the answer. The art of having passionate and possible communication between people. "Brown" depicts the human body as the joint symbol of expression with deliberate exaggeration. In Zang's view, the history of human civilization is a result of communication between people. For example (Brown  III, 2010),  it shows two bones being reversely connected to each other as it became a spiritual communication with the past generations, while the missing gap in the center of the shape implied that real communication had never been achieved.

Bones are like hard and persistent evidence corresponding to the disappearing space and time and they also seem to carry a mysterious and extraordinary energy waiting to be recognized.
