Artist(s): LIM Tze Peng
Date: 26 Apr - 23 May 2012
The island of Bali has long held a gifted fascination by the artists of Nanyang. This exhibition features a selection of over 80 works in ink by renowned second generation stalwart, Lim Tze Peng, whose love affair with Bali began in the 60s. At its most intense during the 80s, this exploration of Bali life and landscape for several decades has yielded more than 400 images, in sketches, ink and oil paintings. In this presentation, the works unravel a visual and sumptuous tapestry bound up in the fabled beauty of Bali, its enchanted landscape and the spirited core of its being: no doubt seamlessly bound up in the inspiration drawn by the artists of Nanyang, past and present.
