Artist(s): Tina MODOTTI
Date: 22 Jul - 22 Aug 2011
Born in Udine, Italy in 1896, Tina Modotti lived in Mexico from 1923 to 1930 where she began practising photography under the influence of Edward Weston. Her prints started out capturing still-life objects before she took interest in bringing in social content into her works when she joined the Communist Party in 1927. NAFA is proud to present this exhibition of Tina Modotti's works in our inaugural collaboration with the Embassy of Mexico, showcasing 26 pieces of Tina Modotti's prints taken during the turbulent years of Mexico.
