This exhibition showcases the work of U Lun Gywe, a famous Impressionist Master Artist in Myanmar, whom executes a unique style of art from other artists. U Lun Gywe terms his style of painting “Impressionist” as he is one who never paints a copy - he paints by memory and inspiration. His paintings display his bold and dynamic action workmanship, and with the use of pastel colours and movement in his paintings, it reveals the technique manifested over years by the master artist.
According to his mood and concept, U Lun Gywe used to paint with many different techniques in his art works using different media and practices. U Lun Gywe mastered the use of oil paints, water colour, pastel and ink
sketches.
With this exhibition U Lun Gywe hopes to allow the viewers of his art works appreciate the nature of Myanmar custom and Myanmar life through his paintings.
To U Lun Gywe, an artist must undergo continuous training and thoughts to be able to possess his own style. “An artist is the creator of art and not a copyist. An artist must know the differences of Nature and Art sense. He
must have his own feeling before his creation.” From an artist concept, U Lun Gywe accepts both mind looking and mind feeling.
