Art Seasons Gallery is pleased to present ‘Art in Motion: Hanging Mobiles’, a solo exhibition of Cultural Medallion recipient Tay Chee Toh.
Tay has forged paths in paintings and sculptures over a long career that is now in its sixth decade. Moving between figurative and abstract expressions that has given us his signature Dayak Women and Aqua series in his practice as a painter, Tay’s venture into sculpture making has been no less engaging.
This exhibition re-establishes Tay’s interest in kinetic sculpture. First introduced in 1987 with a large aerial commission for the Orchard MRT Station, Tay’s kinetic sculptures are airborne flights of fantasy balanced with engineered precision.
