Ee Huat Chuan,Jensen - Full Time Artist, Art Teacher
Nal Seal-Engraving, Chinese Calligraphy, Portraits and the mastery of ancient Chinese musical instrument, Gu Qin. Apart from Oriental Art, Ee Huat Chuan is also actively involved in the experimenting and production of various Western Art Forms. Ee Huat Chuan has since created numerous remarkable quantity of artwork in Pottery and Oil Paintings.

Ee Huat Chuan's strength lies in his perseverance towards the achievement of his ideal form of Artwork presentation. Ee Huat Chuan is not satisfied with the conventional presentation of Chinese Painting and is certainly not one who would stick to conformity. Over the years of study and research, Ee Huat Chuan aims to produce Chinese paintings that present his passion towards Art, as well as a touch of modernism. Ee Huat Chuan has made bold attempts in his paintings by incorporating western techniques into Chinese drawings and experimented different methods of colour presentation, thereby creating a style of his own. His drawings are so precise that even the veins of a sprouting leaf or the fluffy feathers of a flying bird can be seen! But what really distinguish his paintings from traditional Chinese paintings are the layers of colours he often applies to the background of his paintings, creating multi tones, textures and shadows. As a result, his paintings are often refreshing sights, yet at the same time, adequate displays of traditional skills. Ee Huat Chuan's paintings often attract viewers to take closer examinations and appreciate their strategic positions and st likely to strike a chord among art enthusiasts. It relates an artist struggles and efforts while he forges a career in the Art Industry, typically, without important support from the people around him.

Ee Huat Chuan ventures in Oil Paintings serves as a source of inspiration and ideas for the generation of new creations. Chinese Paintings are more like 2 dimensional presentations whereas in Oil paintings, the third dimension can be explored by the use of different mediums, creating different textures and depths. Oil Painting is a stimulant that thrills and motivates Ee Huat Chuan to explore new frontiers, most importantly, to present new sensations in traditions!

Ee Huat Chuan's efforts are well received. Barely a year in China National Academy of Fine Arts, he won the First Prize in their annual school art competition. In the same year, 1993, Ee Huat Chuan was also being awarded a scholarship from the National Arts Council, Singapore. When he return to Singapore, Ee Huat Chuan continues to be active in the art scene, taking part and winning numerous prestigious competitions in Singapore such as the annual UOB Painting of The Year competition.

Ee Huat Chuan's paintings always elude a sense of innocence that draws warmth and familiarity, which are qualities that we all experience as a child. Ee Huat Chuan has been trying to captivate and reminisce such character traits in his paintings and ceramic works. The result is an uniquely personal expression of his passion towards Arts.
