iPRECIATION is delighted to present a group exhibition of young, emerging Japanese artists this April. Shimizu Tomohiro (b. 1977), Tokimatsu Haruna (b. 1984), Yamato Takeshi (b.1987) and Yuasa Kanako (b. 1987) are currently based in Tokyo, and their artworks will be showcased in Singapore for the first time.
Relaying ideas enthused by childhood curiosity, all four artists capture the varying nuances of youth; expressing the imagination, and at times, phantasmal viewpoint that a child can conjure of the world and beyond. Innocent and nostalgic, vibrant whilst probing, the works created by these artists captivate children, whilst conveying an elusiveness that adults are made privy to: For what lies beyond the whirl of colours and alluring imagery is an ideal exalting the beauty of curiosity- the ability to question sans apprehension, forgo the pride earned from experience, and observe the world through a different, albeit eccentric, looking glass.
We hope you will join us for this young, artistic showcase, as we celebrate the creations of four contemporary artists from Japan; Geared with vibrant, intriguing foresight, as they entice us to peer through a curious, enticing, kaleidoscopic world.
