Go back in time into the daily lives within the Forbidden City with Jiang Guofang as well as to experience the liberation from the expressive abstract art by Wang Huaiqing.

Jiang Guofang

Jiang Guofang's most well known forbidden city series' records the daily lives and delicate subject matters such as princes, empresses and concubines in Ancient China, all with a poetic and almost heavenly ambience. His "little princes" represent a continuation of China's century old practice of the younger generation taking over the old, as well as the system of Monarchy that naturally influences certain foundations in the modern society today.

Wang Huaiqing

Wang Huaiqing studied under the great Chinese Master Wu Guanzhong and was a leader among the group of modern oil painters who called themselves "The Contemporaries, Tong Dai Ren". The subject matter of his painting was chiefly portraits of his family and surroundings. They are natural and intimate, yet infused with a strong and daring feeling for color and design.
