‘Both truth and chaos is the reality but also a dream, flirtatious and mysterious at the same time.” Friends who’ve seen my works often make such a comment.
Among the plants and flowers that I grew due in my own backyard are the river interlaced hills and verdant trees. Most of the time the season is green, the air moist, and sometimes with mist rising. This mixture of things that’s happening naturally in front of you always felt like magic to me.
Something within those colorful jungle of weeds and blossoms layer upon layer and covered with thorns, often drawn me towards the mysterious things unknown. I think that within that space I am trying to detect the unknown, something totally external of our usual understanding. I believe there are more meaningful aspects in life than material desires, so I put my joy into a jungle field, creating my own paradise. It is my secret garden where I can imagine in arbitrary and satisfy my curiosity. Amid the sense of poetic and romance there’s the desire and struggle, it is the other face of the mirror…
In these pieces I have placed more emphasis on language processing in showing the mood and atmosphere with dotted lines, cracked lineworks, form, colors etc… to convey true feelings. I want to touch the heart and mind of freedom.
Flowers of life, the wind in Spring and the withering in Winter, life and death are beyond the rise and fall of seasons…
