The daughter of one of Singapore’s early contemporary artists, Angie Tan grew up with pictures. Her studies and work in the field of graphic arts further honed her eye and sense of composition which enhances her abilities as a professional photographer. Enamored with the sea and an accomplished windsurfer herself, Angie’s love of nature and sports stimulated her to embrace photography as a means of capturing landscapes as well as the energy and spirit of individuals while engaged in dynamic athletic pursuits. Over the past decade, Angie has endeavored to distill the essence of her subjects and their chosen activities, which requires her to be equally as active as the athletes she photographs. Often underwater or high above the ground, Angie revels in finding the optimum angle that will do justice to the unique and piercing personalities of the people or animals who’s portraits she creates through the camera.
