FANG Min biography | artworks | events

Fang Min’s subject on monastery monks provides a satirical insight of their hasty retreat from desired solitude.

His paintings portray cheerful Buddhist monks who resigned to letting live the existential life of nature although they sought to attain peace from the external environment.

"The external environment around us does not change and serenity depends on our ability to receive the noise surrounding us and not let it trouble us. All life has the right to exist, so the insect has the right to exist. "

Alluding to a magnanimous heart and good conscience, Fang Min‘s roots in Buddhism propels him to seek a kindred spirit from the inner state.

Born at Zhejiang, Huzou in 1964, Fang Min graduated from Huzhou Normal School in 1987 and studied at the China art institute for oil painting in 1990. He has participated in many provincial and city oil painting exhibitions. His works are widely collected and bought by clients from USA, Japan, Europe and native grounds.
