Indian born artist of mixed heritage, Cimmaron Singh, presents her inaugural exhibition, Serendipity.
Serendipity is a story of moments discovered by chance from her photography archives of commissioned works, travel and fine art. Striving to capture life, Singh shoots from non-conventional angles helping her discover a new depth in her portraits and landscapes – pictures rich in Indian colour, sepia photographs exuding vintage charm and surreal images in black and white. Her expertise lies in her ability to transform an ordinary moment into the extraordinary forcing the viewer to look deeper into each image she captures. Cimmaron Singh continues to be invited around the world on personal and public commissions to shoot for prominent members of the Bollywood film fraternity, high profile politicians and industrialist families who prescribe to her artistic sensibilities.
Born in India, 1973, Cimmaron Singh began her career as a freelance lifestyle photographer in 2007. Singh had previously retailed her own line of products under the brand name ‘Cimmaron’, and exhibited her designs locally and internationally at institutions such as Galeries Lafayette, Paris; the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), New Delhi; Vis-à-Vis Design, Bangalore; The Canadian High Commission, New Delhi; and Delhi Commonwealth Women’s Association (DCWA) Fair, New Delhi. With the aforementioned background and a long stint with Mail Today (India Today Group) as their lifestyle journalist, Singh adroitly combines her innate aesthetic sense with her sharp eye for detail in her candid and documentary photography.
Cimmaron Singh’s photographs have also been recognized & published in leading publications around the world including Vogue, Grace Ormonde(USA), Zink! (USA), Asiana (UK), Hello, CNNgo, Travel & Leisure, Bridal Asia, Hi Blitz, Mail Today, Hindustan Times, Times of India Newspaper, The Asian Age, Mid day, DNA, Livemint and Deccan Herald. Singh was interviewed live by CNN International Television as one of the world’s leading wedding documentary photographers, whose “extraordinary images showed the remarkable beauty of weddings in India”.
