Indigo Blue Art presents two master Indian artists, Sohan Qadri and Narayanan Akkitham. Akkitham Narayanan and Sohan Qadri experienced Indian-ness through the abstract forms of Tantra and sublimity. Their works express the abstract notions of Vedic and tantric teachings. For Akkitham, his geometry comes from natural and the universal system of platonic forms. The geometry comes together to express the power of the universality of pure form through basic lines which intersect to create the aesthetic he desires. In the case of Sohan Qadri, the importance of the ‘dot’ as a form, and as a mark on paper, the very act of creating an incision of paper is meditative. His bold basic colors on which the dots create a serene landscape express his interpretation of Tantra. Both these artists disregard the generic known ideology of ‘Indian-ness’ and dwell deep into the basic underlying philosophies prevalent in ancient India.
