Born in He County in 1933, is a native of She County, Anhui Province. He began as a stage designer and oil painting in 1949. Since 1985, his paintings have been exhibited in France, USA, Bulgaria, Sri Lanka, Singapore, and other countries in Europe. Some of his works are in the collections of The Chinese Revolution Museum, The Chinese Fine Arts Museum and other private collections. Some of his representative works are "Huaihai Victory", "At The Ninth National Congress of the Chinese Youth League", "Rapids", "Great Desert", etc.

Bao Jia is presently a standing member of the Chinese Artists Association (CCA) and Honorary Chairman of CCA Anhui Branch.
