Born and raised in Kedah, Malaysia, Eng Tay studied Fine Arts and Graphic Design in New York in the 1960s.  After his studies, Eng Tay further honed his artistry in his travels to South America and Asia.  Currently residing in New York City, he tours extensively around the USA and Asia in conjunction with his exhibitions.

Working in several media - limited edition etching, painting and sculpture - it is in his depiction of relationships between family, lovers, friends, music and nature that his works reveal the greatest poetry.  Imbuing his creations with a whimsical quality, Eng Tay has evolved a unique narrative style that is at once lyrical, nostalgic, mysterious and exotic.
