TAKSU Singapore is pleased to present ‘Fragments’, a group exhibition featuring works by Fyerool Darma (Singapore), Nguyen Le Thuy Duong (Vietnam), Jill Ann Press (Denmark), Khairy Shamsudin, Al Khuzairie Ali and Khairul Azmir Shoib (Malaysia) from 06 to 23 November 2014.
Fragments showcases mixed media works that explore themes of longing, domination, loss, disassociation, and nostalgia. The artworks forge a connection between what is suggested by the artist and what is perceived by the audience, and it is from within this gray area that a host of narrative elements surface. The lines between fantasy and reality are blurred in the muted oeuvres, as the viewer is purposefully left with a fragmented representation of memory, history, and the human condition.
