TAKSU Singapore is honored to present Doppelgangers, the first solo exhibition of Filipino artist Gerardo Tan in Singapore. Exploring the recurrence of representations in his process of artmaking, Gerardo Tan continues to question postmodern notions of originality and individuality. Doppelgangers, featuring Gerardo Tan's new series of paintings and collages, was first exhibited in TAKSU KL on 17 November - 8 December 2011. As a series of two exhibitions, Doppelgangers explores the site specificity of the installations in the two neighboring metropolitan cities; the impacts of the viewership to the work, and consequently, the works to the viewer.
