Michael Janssen Singapore presents a solo exhibition by Jeremy Sharma. It is the artist's first show with the gallery and it centres on a discourse between two unique bodies of Sharma's work.
Physical manifestations of the artist’s philosophical musings about time, light, matter, entropy and continuum, the three-dimensional works on view resist definition, straddling the lines between painting, sculpture and object. Presented together in the same space for the first time, these works create an interesting tension and reading of abstraction in the present context of Asia and the world.
Set against the backdrop of today's technological age, Jeremy Sharma's (b.1977) current practice investigates the notion of art as a reflection of a concious life that observes it, addressing our relationship to modernism and our place in an increasingly fragmented and artificial reality.
