Lim Tze Peng first established his art practice in the early 1950s with a series of oil paintings on Chinese junks. Lim began using the brush to capture scenes of Singapore at the time when these historical places were eaced by urban redevelopment. His depictions of the streets of Chinatown, Geylang and the Singapore River captured in detail, our rich cultural past and diversities. His works remained today a signicant contribution to the pioneering contemporary art movement in singapore. Ode to Art is proud to present his solo exhibition that’s one year in-the-making entitled “Black & White”.
