All That's Left Has Gone to Sleep
by Chan Hampe Galleries Tanjong Pagar
Location: Chan Hampe Galleries Tanjong Pagar
Artist(s): Safaruddin Abdul HAMID (DYN)
Date: 7 Mar - 28 Mar 2012

The artist's childhood utopia - the playground - is one that still evokes treasured memories of a place where his creativity was first cultivated, so it is of little surprise that this is the focus of his latest series of paintings in All That's Left Has Gone To Sleep.  Dyn remembers the playground as a meeting place for new and old friends where adventure awaited, a time when life was much more simple and the boundless joy of climbing ropes and slippery slides conjured numerous imaginary worlds.

Dyn obtained his Diploma in Fine Arts in painting from LASALLE – SIA College of the Arts, Singapore. He later received his Bachelor’s Degree from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) in Australia and went on to a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts from the Open University at LASALLE – SIA College of the Arts. In 2011, he showcased his works in an exhibition called Traces for the first time at the Chan Hampe Galleries at Tanjong Pagar. In 2010 he had an exhibition called Playtime at the Karin Weber Gallery in Hong Kong. He was a recipient of the Winston Oh Travel Scholarship in 2002 and again in 2004 and The Della Butcher Award (Certificate of Merit) in 2003, both awarded by LASALLE – SIA College of the Arts.
