Chan Hampe Galleries @ Raffles Hotel is pleased to announce its second exhibition for 2010 – a solo exhibition by Korean-born Singaporean artist Om Mee Ai.

Om is well known amongst Singaporean collectors for her distinctive abstract paintings made up of a complex grid of multiple translucent colours. She was awarded Category Winner of the abstract medium, UOB Painting of the Year Competition in 2003, 2006, 2007, and received the Platinum Award in 2009.

Her artworks are held in important collections such as the Singapore Art Museum Art Bank Collection, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Manpower, United Overseas Bank, Philip Morris Singapore, European Financial Group, INSEAD Business School (Asia Campus), and Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Singapore and Jakarta, Indonesia.

For this exhibition, Om has pushed the boundaries of geometric abstraction, developing new works of increased complexity never attempted before. The resulting works are captivating due to their intricate layers and her sensitive application of colours.
