Prasobhan Chooi Kannaran was born in Malaysia in 1972 to a Persian mother and a father of Indian and Chinese ancestry. He believes his superlative talent for art is a direct result of this mixed heritage. His artwork is influenced by his strong Asian values. A cheerful, down-to-earth person, inspired by Indonesian culture, he has designed breathtaking clothes which have been showcased at international fashion events, and can turn clay into beautiful, functional art pieces. His ultimate ambition is to be internationally recognised as a successful fashion designer, artist and entrepreneur. But what makes him stand out is that his desire to succeed stems, not only from a wish for personal happiness, but also from a desire to help the less fortunate. However ambitious his dreams may be, the last few years have been tough, and kick-starting his fashion business has been a hard learning curve. But he has been resilient enough to overcome every moment of disappointment and maintain a positive attitude throughout. Faced by a similar situation, others might have wilted, but he was disciplined enough to revitalise his health and spirits and make the changes necessary to overcome his situation.He has started his business afresh, and has produced a series of paintings reflecting the thoughts and sorrows which have dwelled in his mind at various points over the past few years. He is an artist with confidence in his abilities and boundless gratitude to God for gracing him with a great talent. After a tumultuous ride, during which he had to confront his personal demons head on and vanquish them, he presents you with his first catalogue of paintings, entitled "The Journey Of Faith", representing the start of a journey full of a thousand hopes and just one dream - personal success, happiness and inner peace.
