Born in 1941, Bernar Venet studied at the Villa Thiole, in Nice, France. In 1976, he shows for the first time canvases and sculptures of line subject. In the 1980's, he starts creating his indefinite lines' sculptures. His success is global. His sculpture are collected and exhibited worldwide, especially in Europe and North America. In 2005, Bernar Venet is named Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur, the highest decoration in France.
