”Retrospective” is a group exhibition of 4 artists - Aersen Khalu, Aer Lu, Chih-Ying Lu and Hsu Hsin-Wei from Taiwan with a different background and exposure, They are bonded by their belief and heritage but with a distinctively different view in presentation. Aersen is inspired to capture every precious moments with spirtual insight. Aer Lu artworks are a series of self-exploration and fantasy, Chih Ying Lu tap into his inner emotion and presented his feeling thru the symbol of a adorable looking “Bear”. Hsu Hsin Wei had explored into a topic on :”Fart” that many have chosen to ignore and disregard even though it is very healthy part of the human way of detoxification, Retrospective will be an amusing and intriguing exhibition that lead viewers into the journey about facing our emotion and conquering our fear about the natural order in life.

About the artists

Aersen Khalu is a self-taught artist and has been involved in Tibetan related artworks since 1999, His artworks are combined with meaningful thoughts that are imaginative, creative, cheerful and with heart-warming messages. Aersen felt that with so many distractions and fads in today's hectic lifestyle, he always try to create pieces that are lovely and have a way of reminding us of the most precious and beautiful things that our eyes have rarely glimpsed and that make our hearts leap within us. Every art piece he creates must lift the spirit and guide you to the imaginary world and soften our heart and let you see the real beauty.

Aer Lu was born in Sanchung city, Taipei Hsien, Taiwan. R.O.C.  He started learning art when he was in junior high school. After he graduate from National Kaohsiung Normal University (NKNU) in 2008, he went to China to learn about leather design. In 2009, he came back to Taiwan and started to devote his time in watercolor & ink painting. Since 2003, he had an impressive number of participation in 23 solo and group exhibitions in Taipei, Kaohsiung & Tainan in Taiwan,

Chih-Ying Lu is a young but talented artist that had won awards from the Taipei international art exposition in 2010 and also the winner of the Design team of Pingdong Education University visual arts exhibition in 2007 & 2008. He had participated in various group exhibitions in Taipei and Taoyuan County.

Hsu Hsin-Wei received her Master of fine art from the Pratt Institute in New York in 2009 and her Bachelor of Fine Art from Hua Fan University in Taipei, Taiwan in 2004. She had won Presidential Award winner, Departmental Exhibition, Huafan University, Taipei in 2003 as well as the Honourable Mention in Combined Materials Category, 16th Taipei County Arts Competition in 2004. Her recent solo exhibitions with artworks from the “Fart series” were presented at galleries in Queen and Brooklyn, New York in 2009 & 2010.
