Repetitions d'amour - Sabine took up the challenge and decided to explore the too often poorly considered topic of LOVE. She offers to the public words of love which she repeats, hammering and questioning, she tells us what we forget or dare to say which the fundamentals is. Through constructed words, close up gazes and landscapes revisited, the artist whisper, yells, screams out LOVE.
What do we feel when we dare to say I love you? This question intrigues Sabine, and is central to her work. In her works “Je t’aime ” and “Declaration d’amour ”, she displays and declares the words « I love you ».The message of love is wrenched away from the intimate, and is proclaimed out loud without modesty, raising questions, and even disturbing.
In her Other works “Red d’amour”, “Autoportrait”, “Stress”, Sabine also speaks about the love which makes us feel guilty – such as a love we questioned, waiting for an answer & it may just tick over as it can be suddenly awoken. With words, she expresses her pains, which can sometimes be oppressive and destabilizing but “Always challenging”.
Finally in her portraits of children, Sabine explores the profound bond of family love. In assembling her screen, her background, her typographical gray, she writes thousands of times I love you and maybe other things too.
