“5 Lines of sight” is an exhibition put together by 3 artists and 2 sculptors - Oh Mikyung, Lee Jaeock, Kim In, Park Cheolchan & Doil. They are a group of talented korean artists that expresses their spirit of young ages and the times. The group started with only Sculptors but gradually other artists contributed their painting, installation and video participated. They started with a series of group show from 1994 such as “Between”, “Root” and other with meaningful titles.

Oh Mikyung had contributed her work for the last 10 years to focus on the female body and she has approached the body in terms of "motherhood" from the Oriental perspective and as "sexuality" from the Modern Capitalistic society. The signature of her works involved the female legs in red high heels that inspired from both Eastern and Western mythology.

Lee Jae-Ock artworks are mouth watering affair and it fulfill the senses of sight, smell and taste using the subject of tangerines.

KimIn is influence by Pop Culture and the world of Animation. In “Dream” that feature Pooh with bright vibrant colours that bring out the young at heart from each one of us.

Park Cheol-chan had interesting used the material of a Pine Tree to present his sculpture’s work “Between I & II”. His works reflect on how human is closely related to nature and also his love and passion to use the most natural materials such as wood from trees in Korea.

Doil artworks uses commonly used materials such as spoons & chopsticks to transform them into modern sculptures such as the series on “Locomotion” that brought alive human movement with spoons.

About the Artists:

Oh Mikyung studied Oriental Painting and Arts theory at Ewha Women's University and Hongik University of Korea. She has been invited to show her works at 11 solo exhibitions and 23 group shows in Korea, Japan, Singapore, HongKong and France. Mikyung’s works are collected throughout Korea, Japan, Singapore, Australia, Canada, Mexico and France.

Lee Jae-Ock graduated from the Department of Fine Art at Chung-Nam National University. This is her 1st group exhibition in Singapore and her recent exhibition in Korea are “Green Cake”, ”Hot Issue”, “Only One” &“Art in Life”.

KimIn had participated in Lara Sati Auction Show in Singapore(2009).”DOLL” in Hong Kong, “Artist File 2009”, “Alternative space” & “Art in Life” in Seoul & “Window Media” @ Open Museum, Daejeon.

Park Cheol-chan graduated with a BFA from Chungnam National University (Sculpture) and MFA from Hongik University Graduate School of fine arts (Sculpture).He is presently a lecturer at the ChungNam University Sculpture department. His most recent sole exhibition is held in Paju title “Book house” and he a series of exhibitions held in Korea and Tokyo.

Doil was born in Nonsan Chungnam S.Korea. He graduated with a B.F.A in Sculpture. From Colleage of Fine arts. Chung-nam National University. Doil most recent exhibition in 2009 - “La Mer”,”Ever-Cycle Exhibition” @ Haslla Art World Open Air Museum, Gangneung, “Fearful Art” @ Create Center of Deajeon City Art Museum, Daejeon & “Admiration of Green” @ Samsung C&T Garden in Seoul
