Peranakan In Plays is a group exhibition by local sculptor Lim Leong Seng and Malaysian artist Kuen Stephanie. It will also feature vintage batik collection that peranakan female (Nyonyas) in the past will dress as adapted from Malay baju kurong and the sarong kebaya.

Lim Leong Seng  is an artist who is interested in preserving the Singapore heritage. His success with commissioned works allows him to create a series of sculptures, depicting Singapore historical and multi-racial characters. He will showcase his work on the Peranakan lady and the Teh Tarik man in this exhibition.

Kuen Stephanie feature a delightful opulence heydays of the Peranakan Culture. Each of the painting is imbued with a simple tale of the Peranakan - Nyonya women folks on what they do and taught to practice such as the making of, "kasut manek," as part of their dowry, embroidery handyworks. Little remains of this unique culture that flourished in the early days except for the Nyonya cuisine. Kuen Stephanie hope that thru this exhibition everyone can enjoy art appreciation and at the same time on the nyonya culture.
