There used to be standing space in the subway on the way to work.
Now, all of us are squashed side by side.
In a city where the landscape keeps changing and free space is steadily being replaced by bricks and mortar; dwellers are now packed closer and tighter to one another.
How do the urbanites react?
How do they adapt and adjust?
Presented in 3 performative installments, the performers invite the audience to explore with them the possible permutations of city-men’s relation with their space.
Using the unique structure of Dahlia Gallery which is made up of narrow spaces and where more is considered too much, this is a series of site-specific movement performance.
Installment #1 | August 13, 2011
How much do we really appreciate the space available in our midst? To put it in another way, how much are you affected by the lack of physical space around you in this city?
Or have you grown so accustomed to the narrow walkways and limited space, you can easily maneuvered around the constraint and adapt your body to the needs?
This is a performative piece asking you to take a look at the constraint of space in our modern city and your interactive response to this phenomenon.
