Opening its first exhibition for 2011, Artesan presents Alter Peace & Formation - a group exhibition participated by a young crew of artists from the Philippines: Ronald Ventura, Ruel Caasi, EJ Cabangon, Igan D’Bayan, Manok Ventura and Leeroy New. With a close-knit group of multi-art awardees, Artesan has organized the project to exemplify the fusion of six talents that bear a common nucleus and character, yet demonstrate a foundation that strongly represents each individual.
“I am an advocate to presenting these artists in a genuine context, the way art and artists expect to be presented,” continues Roberta Dans, Director of Artesan Gallery + Studio. “It will be a dialogue of ideas, where concepts converge and integrate - yet remain separate. The intention is to highlight how these hyper-talented artists will use a common platform to display the extent of influence of their alliance and rapport, and the eventual evolution of separate expression coming into play. The combination of energies from these talented artists will be quite amazing. “
The exhibition will display an artistic feat that combines dread, delight and disillusion.. All six artists are faced to challenge their own craft, as if they were held together by a perpetuating fraternal chord. One can only foresee an altercation of the accord.
The creative assembly is the brainchild of Ronald Ventura who will also present himself for the first time outside his home base, as curator, as well as participant for the group exhibition. Ventura is one of the leading Filipino contemporary artists of today, gaining an ardent following of collectors from around the world.
“The amazing thing about someone like Ronald Ventura is that his talent is multi-faceted. He puts together an exhibition much like the way he positions characters in his beautiful paintings,” declares Roberta. “He has an awesome imagination and together with his group, will blow our minds with the show. I have seen him do this time and time again.”
The exhibition project exemplifies Artesan’s motivation to promote young talented artists. The project also offers a feat of intertwining levels of art and personal foundation. Alter Peace & Formation will evolve naturally with an intimate and exceptional energy - and it will be a fascinating journey for the gallery, its artists, curator, and their audience.
