Artesan Gallery + Studio specializes in contemporary pan-Asian art while proudly taking the lead in a promoting Philippine art outside its home ground.
For its second participation in Soiree @ Raffles Arcade, Artesan proudly features house artist Guerrero Habulan, from the Philippines.
Guerrero is a figurative artist that grew up surrounded by his artist father’s colourful artistic life: visiting artists’ studios, mingling with the most creative of minds, and learning to draw and paint instinctively even well before he went for formal training.
He is a young hyperrealist, equipped with a playful sense of wit
that purposely lightens the load off our reality. Guerrero possesses an incredible natural talent and artistic technique, that promises to perpetually spellbind its audience. By mapping the realities of tradition and convention, particularly appropriating images from the Victorian era, Guerrero’s artworks progress into a symposium of delightful colour, fantasy and veracity in his latest solo exhibition entitled The Vicissitudes of Victoria.
