"Via almost exotic and emotively engaging renderings, this showcase, of paintings and sculptures by two masters and vie emerging artists, extols the beauty that is inherent in the confidence, charm and sensuality of the conventional female element in human life. C. Dakshinamoorthy and A. Selvaraj are two masters in the exhibition. The five promising, emerging artists in the exhibition - Ann Meek, Aparna Sundaresh, Linden Yeo, Sam Kumar and Seema Chopra - are based in Singapore. Some of the artists have indeed had the priviledge of experiencing creative interactions with P.Gnana, an leading artist in Singapore.
Does a damsel always need to be in distress? The exhibition is not intended to be feminist in nature (well, the definition for feminism will vary from person to person). However, sometimes, feminism can be as simple and straightforward as the act of practising the right to just sit, relax and ponder. And that is what exactly the female subjects in this collection of art, have indeed chosen to do. Bravo!
