PantoneMyArt
by tcc - The Connoisseur Concerto
Location: tcc-the connoisseur concerto "The Gallery", 51 Circular Road, Singapore
Date: 5 Jan - 31 Mar 2011

Our choice of objects and colours we bring into our everyday lives and our environment is a form of self-expression. The Pantone© universe allows us to extend colours into our lives through the design of home wares, fashion accessories, stationery, electronics, a themed hotel… and now an exhibition.

Witness ten Singapore-based artists express themselves in monochrome. Using colours from the Pantone Matching System, these artists face the challenge of creating artworks predominantly in one colour tone which they selected at random. This proprietary colour matching system is traditionally used in a variety of design and printing industries, though in this context, will extend to a wide range of mediums, from painting to digital art.

The show promises a showcase of the graphic urban art of Ben Qwek (MR.B) and Antz, the visual artistry of Singapore’s enfant terrible Zxerokool, the retro-inspired graphics of Mojoko, insanely detailed illustrations by Messy Msxi, multimedia installations by Malvina Tan, digital paintings by Jack Youngblood, and the painterly visions of Jamie Paul, Jeremy Sharma and Aiman Hakim. Brought to you by TCC – The Connoisseur Concerto, these ten artists will transform the Boat Quay caffè’s upstairs gallery space into a veritable cornucopia of colour.

PantoneMyArt is a showcase of 10 emerging artists, brought to you by tcc, a passionate advocate of the arts.  Since 2004, tcc has been a host to local and foreign artists like, B. Jane Cowie, Dominic Fondé, Jeremy Ramsey, Jean-Pierre Blanchard, Ketna Patel, and Hans Mendler. In an effort to nurture artists and the creative community, tcc brings art to a larger public by bringing artworks out of the gallery and into an informal and comfortable caffè atmosphere. A recipient of the Patron of the Arts Award for three consecutive years since 2007, tcc has selected art boutique caffès across Singapore that display exceptional art collections, where guests can appreciate art over a superior cup of coffee. tcc “The Gallery” at 51 Circular Road is the only gallery in Singapore opens 365 days from 11am to midnight and 2am on weekend.
