tcc - The Connoisseur Concerto, the leading purveyor of gourmet coffees in Singapore, in collaboration with :phunk studio and art-management.com, is pleased to announce a new conceptual art exhibition entitled “100 Friends 100 Artists 100 Inspirations”. tcc - The Connoisseur Concerto has been a strong supporter of art in Singapore for seven years and in collaboration with art-management.com has held 35 exhibitions within its “The Gallery” on 51 Circular Road. 100 Friends 100 Artists 100 Inspirations will see artists return to the gallery for a homecoming and will be a platform to benefit the non-profit organisation TRANSMISSION: PROJECT.
The exhibition, conceptualised and curated by art-management.com and :phunk studio, will showcase 100 portraits featuring 100 inspirational figures that have influenced and encouraged 100 well known Singaporean and international artists from multi-discipline artistic practices. All 100 A4 portraits will be framed and priced at a very affordable S$199.00. Buyers will be able to take their new artwork home on the same day. The exhibition will be a unique chance to view work from such a diverse range of artists and creative disciplines.
Artists participating in the 100 Friends 100 Artists 100 Inspirations exhibition are free to create drawings, digital works, paintings and collages to express their greatest inspiration. While the artists come from a range of creative disciplines, they all share a common bond of friendship and collaboration with :phunk studio, art-management.com, and tcc - The Connoisseur Concerto.
Through this collaboration platform of friendship the themes of inspiration and achievement are set to inspire a new generation of artists. For all artworks sold, 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit the non-profit TRANSMISSION: PROJECT, an annual experimental incubator platform founded by :phunk studio, an award winning Singaporean contemporary art and design collective. In 2012 TRANSMISSION: PROJECT will encourage collaborative projects between 15 young Singaporean artists and established multi-disciplinary artists, designers and creators over a one year period, culminating in a high profile exhibition and catalogue.
Jackson Tan, co-founder of :phunk studio, states, “Over the last 17 years since :phunk studio was established we have had the opportunity to collaborate with amazing artists and designers that have inspired our work. This exhibition enables our friends to share their inspirations, in turn helping a new generation of artists through next year’s TRANSMISSION: PROJECT, which has been proudly supported and housed by LASALLE College of the Arts over the last two years. We hope that art collectors and appreciators will in turn be inspired through the 100 portraits exhibited.”
About TRANSMISSION: PROJECT
The TRANSMISSION: PROJECT is a cross-disciplinary, multi-media broadcast of collaborative explorations in contemporary art and design. It documents the progressive concepts and thoughts from an international showcase of creative minds in graphic design, fashion, product design, photography, illustration, motion graphics, film, interactive, architecture and fine art. The project was founded by :phunk studio, an art and design collective based in Singapore.
