Pa-Ya Exhibition Noblesse Children

The presented fictional image of modern arts through pictorial expression is another imaginative space to re-analyze the containing meanings. The imaginative space allows understanding of strong relationship between reality and space to the appreciator, and leads the freedom of imagination by making the new image of the space as target of appreciating the beauty. At this time, recorded peculiarity also known as reappearance of reality disappears, and captivates in the simulacra world of fictional image with author’s imaginative power as basis. Moreover the new images portrayed in simulacra world are mutually understood as cultural language common to current community above individuals. This is why we went above of just delivering ordinary message to audience through basis of pictorial realist but towards waking up the hidden thoughts on other side of audiences.
As such the modernizing changes of pictures are affecting the creative actions of many photographers. Now the pictorial expression works are free from past forms and is stylish and sometimes it administrated as semi-artistic method. However it grants easily understanding creative model to the photographers from numerous images. Pa-Ya has also shown that free excursion in the extraordinary imaginative world of fictional image is possible through variety of pictures in his own creative space, not just through participation art and direct action of performance in open space of modern arts.

This exhibition also did not have altercation in these huge flows. However with more amusing and vivid words from the past works, it allowed more delightfulness to those people who see with variety of humor codes. For example, the kids in the work stared at viewers with meaningful expression and had bags from expensive brands such as PRADA, LOUIS VUITTON, GUCCI, and CHANEL. This is not much different from the memories we had as a little children putting up mother’s lipsticks with her handbags, or putting on father’s large suit and necktie and pretending to be an adult.

Roland Gerard Barthes has emphasized that pictures does not become meaningless when pictures are always in constant meaning process, instead of being in non-poetic senses. ‘Noblesse children’ series of work also connects to this connection. Firstly, it reflects the clear change of social custom drawing of value valuation about human’s possession. Even so, the kids presented in the work were portrayed to enjoy the moment of changing to royal status through expensive brands.
In here the author reanalyze the expensive products also. The image of making alcohol with LOUIS VUITTON bag represents that expensive brand does not just symbolize wealth, but it expends to product of absolute truth. As such the writer reflex self portrait of people preferring expensive branded cloths without even knowing through ‘Noblesse Children.’ However the most attention drawer in the work of Pa-Ya is the theme expression. Despite the heavy and criticizing theme consciousness, the color of his work represents elimination of the social discord and discrepancy materialist caused by materialists. Instead he selects strong primary color and gesture of pure children to show vividness. As such, by portraying the heavy themes with lightness and amusement, it allows viewers to create analytic code which allows convenient sympathy strand; this is the other characteristic and pleasure of the Pa-Ya’s work world.

Author has been focusing on ‘creating sympathy’ and called his work ‘theme park’. As you can enjoy variety of interesting rides with brilliant decorations when going to the theme park, he always tries to find new theme so it can be shown as a play to others. For this, he inserted pure humor in different places of his work, and he shows that he hopes his work will be a relaxing space for others to feel pleasure. This hope of the author is created as a key point that portrays anything in the world is possible in the work of his own, and is providing amusing humor.
In the ‘Noblesse Children’ series, Pa-Ya used a different production method from other analog system which put basis on the facts. Instead of taking picture of actuality which is the basic characteristic of photograph, it portrays the imaginative power of the author through image production, thus it is different method from the past. This series synthesize parts of actual images and draws them according to needs, thus portraying whether it is analog style picture or digitalized picture through vagueness.

These pictorial expression of Pa-Ya is the result of decoding fixed and generalized modern art’s value, thus approaching us in new way different from today’s mutual objectivity freedom of pictures and arts work. It does not satisfy in borrowing or using variety of pictures from mass media, but directly produce the object or find the final shots. These troublesome actions connect to process of finding the form of the author. Especially these actions of self creating production and author mind connects to the creative discovery which allows us to expect intellectual originality, thus being a process of reconfirming author’s own self control.
